Why is methylfolate better than folate?Updated 5 months ago

Folic acid is the artificial form of folate and does not exist in nature. It requires the body to convert the folic acid to methylfolate to become active. Instead, we give methlyfolate, the active form, so your body can absorb the nutrients easier. Excessive intake of folic acid may increase the risk of food allergies and the risk of autism in infants. Whereas methylfolate does not increase risk.
